Help Me Get Better
Casual Play: We have free casual chess every Monday at the JoCo Central Resource Library where we get together to play. All skill levels are welcome.Free Tournaments: Fairly short (30-45 minutes for each player), these games are USCF rated and last a single day.Paid Tournaments: Longer time controls (90 minutes per player) that typically last two days and have prize money!Coaching/Tutoring: We provide coaching or tutoring for all levels up to master. We provide teaching to individuals, groups and schools at sliding scale.Adult Study Groups We have adult Study Groups for you to study with other people and make new friends.Tournament Directors If you want to have your own USCF rated tournament, we have USCF tournament directors.See the upcoming events page for scheduled events. There is a lot of great chess material online. One of the best ways to improve in playing chess is to play chess. And two sites where you can do it online include:lichess - Free to play and tons of free content including game analysis, puzzles and free studies.
Chess.com - Free to play, but a tiered subscription plan for game analysis, puzzles and online lessons.If you are going play over the board (OTB) there are a few organizations you should be aware of including:United States Chess Federation. All rated tournaments will require a USCF membership.
